Author wrote from "Fort Ontario, N. Y." O'Reilly wrote about his planned interfaith marriage [public and private ceremony] and a possible Church dispensation. He sought Tom's assistance for evidence of such. Penciled notation, in different hand, on page [3] about citing the Bishop Peter Richard Kenrick, of St. Louis, and Anglican orders.

The correspondence between O'Reilly and his friend Tom primarily pertains to O'Reilly's marriage to Frances Pardee.
