Small embossed seal, oval shaped with leaves at base, positioned in upper left corner on note paper. Author commented on the embossed design selected by his sister's, Mary O'Reilly. He wrote, "She out to have gotten up something more ornamental. Doves & things of that sort."

O'Reilly noted the Atlanta campaign, "There seems to be but little prospect of taking Atlanta within that time, and we will have to do some hard fighting."
