I am pleased to introduce our special issue on Business Process Redesign, guest edited by Drs. Hajo A. Reijers of Eindhoven University of Technology, Selma Limam Mansar of Carnegie Mellon in Qatar, and Michael Rosemann of Queensland University of Technology. Hajo is an assistant professor of Information Systems. His research deals with the optimization of business process performance, in particular through process redesign and the application of workflow technology. Selma is an Associate Teaching Professor of Information Systems. Her research interests include Business Process Management, particularly tools and best practices in Business Process Design and Reengineering. She is working on tools that support the efficient appraisal and selection of available best practices, as well as strategies for successful implementation of Business Process Redesign (BPR). Michael is a Professor for Information Systems and Co-Leader of the Business Process Management Research Cluster. His research interests include Process Management, Business Process Modelling, Workflow Management, Ontology, Enterprise Systems, and Operations Management. I would like to extend a warm thanks to our special issue editors for their expertise, initiative, dedication, and hard work in preparing this special issue.
