XM PN6178.I6 C17 1820 [12] p. : ill. ; 18 cm. John Catnach (1769-1813) and his son James (1792-1842) were leaders in the expanding business of providing cheap reading matter for the masses. James developed a highly successful business producing cheap song sheets, ballads, and sensationalist literature with accounts of crimes and scandals. Stitched together and loosely inset inside a yellow wrapper which has on the front panel a central woodcut illustration inside decorative borders, rear wrapper has an illustration and a page of text apparently from an unrelated work.
