On printed letterhead, "Catholic Club of Philadelphia, 217 South Broad Street." Above the Club's name and address, appears the Club's emblem which is a shield with cross, topped a cross. Ribbon banner below with motto "per fidem libertas"

On front, is a list of members' payment with the noted amount and notation "paid." The right side of inside, in landscape orientation, is titled, "Supplemetary List of subscriptions to the Reception to Cardinal Gibbons, Sept 18th 1887"

Confirmed reception date from published article: "A Round of Pleasure Admiral Vignes Visits Mayor Fitler's Rope Works and Attends Two Banquets" The Philadelphia Inquirer (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) 18 November 1887, p. 3.

See printed invitation to the Reception for Rear Admiral Vignes and Officers of the 'Minerve.'"  Archbishop Patrick Ryan met the Rear Admiral that evening.
