Printed letterhead, "Catholic Club of Philadelphia, 217 South Broad Street." The Club's emblem, centered and appeared between the Club's title, is a shield with cross, topped a cross. Ribbon banner below with motto "per fidem libertas" Club's President, Stephen Farelly, notified members the scheduled event, on October 14th with the Right Reverend Monsignore Straniero, Papal Ablegate, was rescheduled for October 18th.

The Most Reverend Patrick John Ryan, D.D., Archbishop of Philadelphia, (Pa.), attended the event.  Confirmed letter's date from published article: "A Prelate's Reception; Monsignor Straniero Banquetted by Members of the Catholic Club." The Philadelphia Inquirer (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) Tuesday, 19 October 1886, p. 2.
