Author wrote from the "U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md." He enclosed the drawings of O'Reilly's son, Philip, made as a cadet. The Lt. Cmdr. expressed his sadness and sympathy over Philip's death and noted, "He was a dear fellow and respected by all." F.W. Bartlett was a Lt Cmdr at the Academy and an an assistant at the Academy's Department for Marine Engineering and Naval Construction.  O'Reilly sent this letter on to his sister, Mary, with a note.  See note.
