Possibly written directly after St. Patrick's Day, March 17, since he wrote about parade and "wasn't it beastly bad luck and mustn't the O'Neills have been disappointed" [His next letter dated and on Manuel Calvo confirms.]  O'Reilly wrote he attended the Jesuit's church on 16th Street, which must be St. Francis Xavier's Church, for communion and confession. He noted the ship Manuel Calvo will sail from Pier 8, East River at 3 p.m.
