Correspondence written on lined paper. Author noted change of duty station; he wrote from "Camp McPherson. In November, 1868 the camp officially became Camp Date Creek. He wrote a lengthy explanation for the change in duty station including names of several Generals: Crittenden, Alexander and Halleck. O'Reilly traveled with the Richard Cunningham McCormick who was Governor of the Arizona Territory, and the newly elected Territorial Delegate to the House of Representatives.
