From the Editor.
We are very pleased to present this special issue on Business Intelligence, guest edited by Dr. Mark N. Frolick. Mark is Professor of MIS in the Williams College of Business at Xavier University and the holder of the Western & Southern Chair in Management Information Systems. He is considered to be a leading authority on business intelligence and has authored over 100 articles on topics including business performance management, business intelligence, data warehousing, executive information systems, e-business, cycle time reduction, and the diffusion of information technology in organizations. He also co-authored, with Dr. James Wetherbe, the book Systems Analysis and Design: Best Practices, West Publishing, 1994, ranked by Computing Newsletter as the top textbook on the topic. Additionally, Mark serves as a consulting editor for several publishing companies and has over 20 years experience in the information systems field. I wish to express my sincere thanks to Mark for his excellent leadership and expertise in serving as Guest Editor to produce this quality themed issue targeting our academic, practitioner, and consultancy readership.
