Developing A Lotus Template For Rental Property Analysis.
An important concern for professional property managers is how to maximize the return on investment for rental properties in a changing environment. Using a microcomputer with an electronic spreadsheet program makes it possible to incorporate changes into a previously completed analysis to obtain updated information quickly. A Lotus template can be created that can be used to analyze the performance of rental properties. By supplying about 16 values that pertain to a rental property, the template developed here can make a number of useful calculations quickly. Contemplated changes in rental income and operating expense fluctuations are easily analyzed by changing input to the template. With a working knowlege to Lotus 1-2-3, other useful templates can be created to analyze alternative investment options or comparisons between actual operations with established budgets and standards.
