The design of this work is to faithfully portray the origin, progress, and present con-
dition of the Pennsylvania Railroad, and to give such information of a historical, personal,
and statistical character as will interest the traveler over its lines, and the public generally.
The book will be printed in large, clear type, on fine, heavy paper, and as a speci-
men of book-making will probably equal anything of the kind ever accomplished in America.
It will be sold at a very reasonable price. Due notice will be given of the time of pub-
lication.
