Cadet Warner Commands
Theoretical Regiment on
Security Mission
A selected group of
the night in Wayne. The first bat-
talion of our outfit has been acting
as the advanced guard of the regi-
ment, and is now to take over as
the outpost.
Complex Organization
The company commanders are
given their orders by the battalion
commander, and they in turn are
to issue orders to the respective,
platoons, for the forming of out-
guards. The purpose of the prob-
lem is to give the selected leaders
practical training in leadership
and the choice of positions on the
actual groun .
Colonel Paul J. Dowling, profes-
sor of MS&T, and instructor of the
advanced course men, made u the
situation last month, and selected
his leaders at a subsequent confer-
ence. As “Colonel Regimental
Jenkinson as “Major S-3,” Cadet
Irvin as “Major S-2,” Cadet Dym
as “Major S-1” and Cadet Fasset
as “Major-Adjutant." Cadet Dis-
telhurst was selected as “ Lieuten-

The members of the Band, on
the morning of January 19, 1943,
left the Academy with their shined
and polished equipment for the
Wayne station, from which they
proceeded on an enjoyable train
ride by special coach to Pennsyl-

was THE official band.
Because of the wet weather the
Bandsmen proceeded to the capitol
and played for the memorable in-
auguration ceremony at the beauti-
ful Farin Building auditorium.

The members of the Band, win-
ners of the first half of the pla-
toon competition, and the members
of the '42 football squad were the
guests of Colonel Milton G. Baker
t :1 dinner and theatre party in
Philadelphia on Monday evening,
January 25.
The Cadets, after an enjoyable
train ride, colored with harmoni-
ous singing by everybody, pro-
ceeded to the Union League Club
where each enjoyed a delicious
nenl.
Following a toast to the Presi-
dent of the United States, the Ca-
dets withdrew from the League
and reassembled in the famous

sons in residence here at the Acad-
emy. Tw Eric and Peter, have
graduated, while a third, Alec, is
in his first year here. All have
excelled in academics and the two
