Manzetti, Leo P. (1867-1942): born in
France of Italian parentage; came to U.S.,
1903 ; successively curate and organist, St.
Rita Church, New York, member of the
faculty of the conservatory of music at the
cathedral in Cincinnati, director of the K.
of C.'Choral Club in St. Louis, director of
music, St. Mary Seminary, Baltimore, and
for 30 years, until his death on Feb. 4,
1942, chaplain of St. Mary’s Orphanage,
Baltimore; he was made a Papal Cliaiii-
berlain in 1918 and :1 Domestic Prelate
in 1922; an organist of the Society of St.
Gregory; Pope Pius X made him a iiiein-
ber of the Pontifical Commission for Sa-
cred Music; one of the world’s greatest
authorities on Gregorian music and an
accomplished musician and composer; see
