rupter and troublemaker, and for the most excellent of reasons. Nor
will you tell that a despatch you sent by messenger in 1938, having
been delivered at great expense and inconvenience, contained nothing
but a personal attack on a Clan member who was then here. Will you
tell how the C.S. showed this despatch to some members of the Army
Council before burning it and how those members of the Army Council
declared: "Any man who would use our channels to send such a letter
is unfit for membership in any movement connected with us".? Nor do
you wish to tell that since you came to this country you have been
attached to two clubs and that 97% of each walked out in protest to
your viciousness. This the records prove. Do you wish to tell the
facts of your financing your firet business venture with the Camp
funds and that the members became enrnged when it was discovered? No,
but you smeared all those who knew of your chicanery,
Smearing is your favourite trick. You well know that there are no
Communists or British Agents in our outfit but you attempt to brand
certain individuals as such. Why? Greenwood called us Communists, so
did Griffiths, Cosgrave, O'Duffy and Mulcahy. So did the Hierarchy
and so does deValera, To some of us they have also applied the British
yagent tag so you are indeed joined in noble company, but time hag
ereased the smears and pilloried the smearers. If you are being in-
fluenced by a Communist phobia why then did you have a conference with
Michael Quill about six weeks ago? Did you tell the organization what
happened then? The facts of this conference you will probably deny
but the proofs are available and shall be forthcoming. Your actiong
are indeed those of a coward who tries to cover up his guilt through
directing a smear campaign against all who have discovered his double
dealings. You have never yet put into writing any charge against any
person whom you have attempted to smear + why? Why is it that you
lack the courage and the manhood to come face to face with any person
you accuse?
What was the reason for your attack on C-- N----+? Why did you try to
have him secretly ‘dropped! from the Club? Why, if there was anything
against him from the standpoint of the organization, did you not act
as provided for by the Constitution and have him brought up on charges?
Why, when 99% of the Camp demanded an investigation into the matter of
your action, did you oppose the setting up of an investigating body?
When this body sat why did you act the coward and stay away? We know
the reasons: you knew that your motive would be exposed and the real
reason for your attack on N----- would come to light. You stand in
fear of such exposure and you therefore prefer to attempt to smash the
organization than have your motive so exposed. Your fear will little
avail you; your failure to hand over as payment of a debt to its
rightful owner a substantial sum of money given you by the late Chair-—
man, also two large commitments of 1931 and 1936 shall be fully exs
posed. Your attempt to hide behind the smoke screen of a smear
campaign directed against N----- , our 8,G, and others will avail you
nothing. You will fail as abjectly in this as you shall fail to
wreck the Clan naGael.
