This is the collection of the Lloyd family papers and donations to Villanova including correspondence, deeds, receipts, newspaper clippings. Of particular value are the papers of Thomas Lloyd know as the "Father of United States Shorthand," and the donated photographs of Eamon de Valera, first President of the Republic of Ireland. Items from the Shea family and Rudolph family, both linked to the Lloyd family, are also included. The Shea family owned land that Villanova would come to occupy in that Main Line Philadelphia area, later known as Villanova. Digitization Status: Project Completed.
