VII. The Placer. The full grows upon the
Borders of Banks, and Ditches caii up, and m
the Borders of Fields. The fecond never grows

Water is continually. The third grows near the
Water fide, and fometimes in fmall watery Ditch-

IV. Gerard defcribes it thus. The Root i: long
and thick. white of color, in Tajie fharp, and very
much biting the Tongue like to Muiiard. It bring:
forth great Leaver, long, broad, fharp pointed, and
fntpt about the edger, of a deep green, color, like
thofe of the Great Garden Dock, called of fora:
Patience, or Monks Rhubarb, but longer and
rougher. The Stalk ir jlender and brittle, bear-

V. The Placer. Gerard fays, he has found it
growing Wild in fevetal places, as at Nantptwich
in Chejhire, in the place called the [Kiln-Eye.- as

rifhcd for a long time afterwards. But for the
molt part it is lanted and grows in Garderu, and
