IV. The Placer. It grows generally in tnoli: pla-
- ces throughout England, in Copfes, and upon Heaths,
and on rough, barren, and mite Grounds, and of:
times under or near Holly Bufhes; it grows upun
Hampfied Heath, not far from London, and in many
places in Kent, Elfex, and Bni'hjhire, almoll in every
Copfe and low Wood. '
V. The Timer. It lhoots forth its young Buds
inthe begining of the Spring, which are eaten in
fome places (as aforeEtid) as our young Afpamgttr;
the Berries are ripe in Auguj? and September, the
Branches and Leaves abiding green all the Winter.
V1. The Qualitirr. The whole Plant, Roots,
Leaves, and Berries are powerfully Aperitive, Ab-
lletfive, Diuretick, and Vulnerary, PeEioral, Ne-
phriticlc, Hylierick, and Arthritick. -
VII. '1‘ he Sperijzmian. It is a peculiar thing a-
gainll: the Droplie, efpecially that called an Afcz‘ler,
opens Obiiruaions of the Urinary paii‘ages, and con-
folidates broken Bones. ‘ ’
VIII. The ‘Prrparatimr. The Root is' chieliy
made ufe of to all the Intentions for which the Plant
’ is ufed, and the fame is accounted one of the Five
opening Roots, therefrom you may make, 1. A

l Bladder, Reins,
Ilr’eteis, and Bladder, provokes Urine, and amends
the ill fmell thereof, 'it helps to expel Gravel and
the Stone, gives enfe in the Strangur , and provokes
Womens. Monthly Courfes, it he ps the Yellow
Jaundice, and theHeadach, and made into a Lohoch
with Honey it‘eitpeElorates Flegm, and cleanfes the
Thorax, or Lungs, and Stomach oi'Flegm and dame
