Humors which offend the Stomach, it provokes
Womens Courfes , but is to be forbom by Women

therefore as Vegetables are more porous and apt
for penetration than Metals or Minerals, fo a weaker
Acid my. be imployed in the performance of that
Work; for if the Iirongeft Acids, as Oils of Vitriol,
Salt, Sulphur,,f3'e.. were made ufe of, they would
totally enervate and deitroy all the faculties and ope-
ration of the Vegetable they ‘ihould be applied to or
mixed withal. ,This Preparation is fafe enough; and
in many will work only downwards , but in weak
Stomachs, and where the Tone of the Vifeera is de-

all this Preparation) wo'tk upwards-,‘ in this cafe the
' Dofe ought to be a. little larger, ‘ for the former Dofe
will only, make Sick, and fcarcely induce Vomiting,
whereby the Patient will truly e made more Sick
and out of order (for want of its due operation) than
ifa larger Dofe had been' given; it is deiigned r
gainft Melancholy, and all the effortsofa Mdnical
dif olition ‘of the Mind; it removes Vapors , and
h ps obltruaions of the Spleen and Hypochonders,
relioring‘the Imagination and Reafon to their right
