diverlity herein, fome having broad, large and

grow upon the Stalk, which feem to enclofe or em-
brace it, being long, fpotted alfo and fharp point-
ed. The Flowers grow towards the top or the
Stalk, Spike falhion; which are large, and like the
lall, with a Spur alfo behind them; fome of them
are all White, others are Purple, and fome between
hot of a purplilh White.

any cf the other Orchides. From this Root rifles
up a Stalk about three Feet high, havmg two very
long Leaves at borrom, but of an unequal length3
thofe which grow next on the Stalk are much long-
er,‘ forne being a Poor and half long, and very nar-
row; but thofe up higher are fhorter and broader.
At the top of the Stalk grow the Flowers fpike fa-
lhion for 3 Foot in length, each of which (lands like
a crofs hollow Pi e, having a broad and longbeatd
thereat, of a line 1th Color, with a more purplil’h
leaf like a Tongue, hanging down, broad above,
and fmall below.
