I. HE Nantet. This Plant, as far as I can
learn, was wholly unknown to the Green-3
yet modern Authors have given it this Greet Name,
’Ag'yuegxalu], Argyrocozne, (i. e. Silver-leav'd: ) in
Latin it is called, Gnaphalimn Americonmn, and in
Englijh, American Cudweed, alfo Live-long, and
Ltje-everlajiing.
II. The Kindr. It is a fingular Plant of the kind '.
and is accounted one of the Soecicr of Gnaphalimn
Carolus- (lull-III, from the Likenefs of the Ilmbles or
Tufts of Heads, tho’ they are greater and whiter
than thofe of the other kinds oi Cudweed -, all of
which are of kin to the Golden Tuftr. This Plant
has been called by form of our Englifh, Live-long
and Life-everlaflt'ng, becaufe of the Durability or
10% Duration of their Flowers in their Beaut .
