from half admm to a dram, in White Wine, againfi
Stone,'Gravel, Sand, and Tartarous Matter in the
Reins and Bladder; it opens ObiiruEtions of the
Urinary parts, and of the Womb -, is good againii
Vapors, and Fits of the Mothers, and difi‘olves Co-
agulations in the Plum. Outwardiy ufed, it is
good againii: the Gout, or any other ains proceed-
ing from a cold Caufe.
XXVII. ’17): Spirit. It is a iingular Cordial,
cheats the Han, revives the Spirits, itrengthens
Nature, and makes the Body able to withiiand Dif-
mfes. It is good againii Convuliions, and prevails
much againii Wind, Painting and Swooning Fits,
Vapors, and Diitempets of the Womb, for which it
is a Speciiick. It comforts the Herd, Nerves, and
Brain, and is ('0 teat a Stomatick, that there is
but few eater. ofe two drains, being duleitied.
XXV I. The Dijiilled Oil. It is a famous thing
for the Hen Nerves, Womb, and Joints -, and there-
fore is good gainli Vertigo’s, A oplexies, Epilep-
Iies, in of the Stomach, Convu fions, Fits of the
Mot er, Paliies, Lamenefs of the Limbs, and all
forts of Rheumatick pains. In Difetfes of the Head
and Nerves, as Pallies, it ought to be anointed down
the Back-bone, as alfo upon the parts affeEied ; and
is alfo to be given inwardly in a Glafs of Wine,
iiom three drops to twelve or iixteen : drop it Grit
into White Sugar, which mix well, then diH'olve it
in the Wine, and to let the Patient drink it up In
Vertigo’s, Apoplexies, Epileplies, Convullions, Sto-
mach Pains, and Mother, it needs only to be given
inwardl , Morning and Evening, as direEied
XXliL The Pottjialn or Poznan. They have all
the Virtues of the Juice, Effence, Tinctures, Spirit
ii, and indeed more fubtil and penetrating,
piercing like Lightning thro’ the Univerfal Frame;
and may be given Morning, Noon, and Night, in
fome proper Vehicle, from one dram to two or three
dun? according to age and litength.
X X. The Elixir. It has the Virtues of Juice,
Eil‘ence,“n&ure,Spirit, Oil and Powers ; but much,
more fubtil, and exfeflual to all the urpofes in-
