often taken with new Cows Milk, viz. futh as is
warm liom the Cow, and in which the heat is pre-

XVII. The Arid TinHur'r. It is an admirable
Stomatick and Cordial, ‘refrefhes the languifhing
Stomach, and caufes a good A petite: It prevails
againli the Scurvy, Dropfre, aundice‘ and Gout,
removes Sicknefs at Heart, and flops a vehement
and preternatural Vomiting. If ufed as :1 Gargle,
by mixing it with fome of the Dillilled Water, and
Syrup, it cures Cankers, and Ulcers of the Mouth
and Throat, and allays Inflammations oFtheTonlils.
This Tinflure is a. notable thin? againli all burning,
malign, putrid, and peiiilentia Fevers, and roili-

allays the pretematural heat, quenches the violent

liigates the Poifon of the very Peitilence it fell". It
cools, opens ObittuEtions, and reElities the Difcrafie
of the Blood and Humors, beyond many other more
Specious, and much Celebrated Medicaments.
XVIII. .The Balfarn. It is an excellent Vulnerary;
it cleanfes old Ulcers, and other Putrid and Run-

I commend it by Experience to my Coun men.

Inhammations of the Throat and Tonlils, Ulcers or
the Mouth, 63c. And if they be boiled in fair wa-

it will make a Lotion againit Serbs, Itch, Tettars,
Ringworms, Scarf; Morphew, and other breakings
out, ariling from (harp and adult Humors.
XX. The Spirit. It is made of the Juice of the
Plant, fermented with Honey, Sugar, Mellolliis, or
Laven, and then Diftilled in an Alembick. It is a
great Cordial, much exceeding Spirit of Wine in
Fainting and Swooning Fits, Sicknefs at Heart, Pal-

the Spirits, recreates Nature, and makes Merry, pro-
