In Figs. 5 and 6, representing TC; 1 and TC; 1, respectively, the observed

05 20 member, the applied load for each set of measurements being indicated in the
space between the portion of the diagram representing the north and south
ribs. The zero gauge readings for the above members were made at an axial
load of 2,100 lbs. per sq. in., so that for absolute values that amount must be
added to the hgures in diagrams 5 and 6. The following Tables 4 and 5 give a
comparison between the actual and measured stresses.
