AMERICAN COMMITTEE
FOR RELIEF IN IRELAND
Dear Friend:
The great distress in Ireland has prompted
the organization of a Committee to obtain finan-
cial aid to help relieve that distress.
Scores of towns have been partly or wholly
burned. Thousands of women and children have no
refuge but the fields and open country, and are
starving as a result of the frightful conditions,
for which they are in no way responsible.
It is not the time to speculate on the cause
of the distress. We are concerned only with the
immediate relief of the distressed.
All Americans should be interested in this
non-political, non-sectarian movement to effect
the necessary emergency relief, and we believe
you are.
We ask your aid.
The fund will be carefully and economically
distributed to relieve actual want.
Contributions should be sent to Mr. John
J. MacDonald, the Treasurer of the Committee,
No. 1200 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.
Theodore F. Jenkins,
Chairman
