Basketball has ended its
reign and the Frafernities are
once again at. peace. The Business
team finished in first place
with a clean record. On the
other hand the Classical men
finished their second straight
year without having scored a
victory.
The Engineers won their fin-
al game with the A.B's, 19-7.
The score at half time was 11-0
in the Engineers favor.
Two teams were used in the
fray by Phi Kappa Pi, and each
did justice to themselves. For
the Engineers, Conti with three
field goals and two fouls was
the scoring star. Zazalli, with
two field goals and one foul
headed the A.B'ts.
The close of the season
marks the last game for Phi
Kappa Pi that a good number on
the squad have played. Those
leaving will be Cept. White,
Phelan, Bedard and Rombaut.
The Society expresges its
Basketball season having been
ended by the Varsity with a fine
victory over the Crescent A.C.
at Brooklyn, 32-24, we can now
leok forward to the opening of
the baseball campaign.
Coach McGeehan and his
jAssistant, "Rube" Cashman are
busy putting the squat through
its preliminary paces. The
first game is with Textile,
on March 27th, at Villanova.
By that time it is expected
that the team will be in con-
dition for what is predicted
its most.successful season.
SOCIETY NOTES.
After much discussion and
consideration, the final sclect-~
ion of candidates for member
ship in the Braternity was
made at the last meeting of
Phi Kappa Pi. The list shows
that the coming initiation
will be one of the largest
ever held by the Fratcrnity.
The evening of March 2end
has been selected as the date
of initiation. An invitation
to attend h as been extended
to the Ahmni members of the
Fraternity. The report from
the Chairman of the Initiation
Committee shows that the com-
mittee is hard at work formul-
ating plans that will insure
a pleasant and entertaining
evening for both the new and
old members.
Although much of the time
at the meetings has been cent-
ered on the initiation, a few
items of other business have
lbeen discussed, among these
was the decision to present
Mort L cary, coach of the Frat+-
ernity Basket Ball Team, with
la gold basketball, as a token
sincere thanks to Mort Leary WhO pf appreciation for his work.
has given of his time so freely
in coaching the team.
