D O N 2! Z. D, the Son of Amagzzizl, [Archbilhop of Jrnzagb] and (as it feems)
Brother to the faid Mczlifzz, was promoted to this Archiepifcopal See, a few
Days after the Death of his Predecelihr ; [and the Year following vilited the Ter-
ritories of Kine!-Eogain, or O-Neill, as he did all Mzmjler in 1094.. A. D. 1101;
he interpofed his good Ofiices, with Damzld O-Locblin, King of Oilmcla, and pre-
vailed on him to difcharge out of Prifon, Dom1tO-Heatlazzdlz, King of Ulidia
taking his Qath, and his Son in I-Ioftage, for the performance of a League then
made between them. In 1 102 he procured :1 Truce for 2. Year, between the faid
Donald O-Lacblin, and Murtogb O-Brim, Prince of the South of Ireland; and both of
them put I-Ioftages into his Hands, for the performance of their Agreement. This’
Truce he kept on Foot till the Year 1 106, when] he tooka Journey to Dublin td
Medizttea final Peace between them. Butupon his return to xirmagb, he fell lick,‘
and died at Damlizzg or Duleelc on the 12th of dugull, in the 68th Year of his Age.’
His Body was from thence conveyed to zirmagb, and there honourably interred,
[But the Annals of the Four Mailers,’ although they agree in his Errand, yet.fa)t '

Armagln] There is extant an Epiltle from Lzmfrzmk Archbifhop of Carwrbmjy,
to Archbifhop Donald, and another from Anjllm, Lanfrzmk’s Succellbr, td
him and others, [which are publilhed by Usjhtr. 3 All the Catalogues of the’
Archbilhops of this See, taken from the Pfalter of Cafbell, which Ihave feen,'
proceed no lower than this Prel-ate ; and aflign no Number of Years for the time‘
he fat. From whence may be gathered; that the Author of that Phlter lived in’
his Time. But then, this takes from the Credit of thofe,‘who make Carma: Mm‘-1
